Bubbles, Banter and Blogging!

Two and a half glasses of Champagne, two glasses of wine, sat in a spinning room (lightweight) with an equally, if not more drunk flat mate singing JLS, who's trying to pack for the weekend. I've just knocked over a mug of tea, screaming hysterically about the fact that I almost destroyed Elle Collections, not that I've just lost £50 from our deposit.

Is it Wednesday already?! (Just knocked over the same mug of tea ...)

Just when the rest of the world is preparing for Spring Summer, I'm about to prepare for Autumn Winter. As New York Fashion Week kicks off in the morning, I'm left with the outrageously boring job of trawling through hundreds of online fashion shows...tragic. Cup of tea, Twix, Trends ... I don't think I'll make it through the day....

I'll be sure to update tomorrow with my favourite pieces from tomorrow's collections.

If this season's collections are anything to go by, I'll be favouring Gucci (nothing changes) Jil Sander (I NEED THAT SKIRT!!! And a couple of inches on my legs to go with it!!!) Chloe (Ballet Skirt!) but by far, my most favourite collections of the season are Burberry and Balmain.

Chloe - Ballet Skirt - SS 2011
Jil Sander - THE Skirt - SS 2011

I'm rebelling against the seventies wide legged jeans (not entirely, I do love them!) and sticking to faithful skinnies!! I can't get enough of my Topshop Leigh Ankle Grazer Jeans! Worn effortlessly with a plain white vest, leather jacket and biker boots. Classicly dated, but effortless.

Celebrity Touretts

I purposely choose to get the train at 9.20pm, and get in at a ridiculous time, simply to avoid the cattle farm truck load of people at peak times. So I have absolutely no idea why it’s busier than Topshop on a Saturday afternoon on this train.

Having said that, at least the guy in front of me isn’t on Skype, like GWTBB. So I’ll count myself lucky.

Spent the past couple of days contacting celebrity agents, managers and publicists to see whether they’d like us to gift the celebrities they look after. Getting responses back was like celebrity touretts, every email was followed by a random name ...

“Blake Lively

Lauren Conrad

THE KARDASHIANS!!!”

Huge fan of Fearne Cotton, Jameela Jamil, Laura Whitmore and  Alexa Chung so getting responses back from their publicists was really cool!

Finally managed to get a sample of the Henry Holland Super Star Black Tights, that Jessie J wore last week! Can’t wait to get these into the office on Monday. There will be photo’s!

Almost home! Can't wait for a Twix and a Cuppa!!!! Yuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmm :)

A Woman's Work Is Never Done!

After working, going to the gym, cooking a meal (not some microwave crap ... The Girl With The Black Book) an actual meal, dying my hair, cleaning the entire apartment and doing my fake tan, I wonder, is a woman’s work ever done?
I’m now sat in bed, drinking tea – without a Twix! It was a tossup between writing a blog, and going to Tesco. I chose the blog. I wish I’d chosen the Twix. But I’d probably think a lot differently when I found myself under a flood lit Tesco in bright red pajama’s, hair to match, and a tan that would make Amy from the only way is Essex jealous.

Looking forward to a night out in Liverpool on Saturday with GWTBB. Toff’s ditched us for the other half. Unfortunately GWTBB and I don’t know when to stop; Toffs absence could be lethal.

So help me decide what to wear! The money situation’s getting out of control, so it’s either, cry extreme poverty and delay my rent for a week, in which case I may choose this ...

Halston Heritage Pleated Lame Dress - £340 (defer rent for two weeks) wear with YSL Tribute Black Heels £540, as suggested by Net-a-Porter (defer rent for four weeks)

Or alternatively, I could borrow Carol Vorderman’s (not THE Carol Vordeman, obviously), very similar, Pleated Dress by Love. No longer in Topshop, but very similar, very gorgeous and would look great with ... hmmm **Thinking, Thinking ...** D&G Shoes!!! Wahoo ... Must remember to get these soled if I do decide to go with that though... Cherry red hair, contrasting post box red lips and sharp make up.

Steal or Splurge? Net-a-Porter’s calling ... !!! I could always buy the dress and get the shoes in March ...

HELP!!!

I shall post pictures!

New Bible: InStyle

During a quiet month, when afternoons are long, cups of tea are hot and cupcakes are in their masses (admittedly these have become very rare when working seven days a week) Vogue, Elle and Bazaar get read from cover to cover. If, and it’s incredibly rare, I’ve read all three before the new month and new issues arrive I usually turn to 125 Beautiful Homes. It first this was because it was always on the coffee table, now I genuinely like it.

At work, the only monthly magazine that we’ve still got a subscription left with is Instyle. And despite it arriving, like clockwork, to my desk each month, I never, ever read it – I don’t know why, it’s just never appealed. Until today! I read it because the cover had mentioned a trend report, so I thought I’d have a sneak peak, more than worth it! Definitely filled the whole left by the absence of Elle Collections, which I still haven’t bought!! Opting for a trip to the gym instead.

I passed on my new find on to Toff, who found a pair of Jewel Red River Island trousers that she's desperate for! I fear she may start singing if I don’t let her use my laptop (hers is riddled with porn ... it has a ‘virus’) to buy them from the website now

CocoKate

So I’ve decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon, just like every other fashion student/photographer/designer/PR Girl and not forgetting the Mum’s who, in my experience of bloggers, are doing it best!!! Those Mum bloggers are packing quite a punch...!

So what am I doing right now? Besides from sitting in my bedroom, thinking I’m Carrie Bradshaw. (I’ve ditched the cigarettes for chocolate and, unusually, the Cosmo’s for a cup of tea). I’m doing a Fashion Marketing Degree. Currently on a placement year and enjoying absolutely every minuet second of it! Even if I am working seven days a week to fund a shopping addiction (To be honest it’s not much of an addiction anymore. Due to severe lack of funds...and time! But I suppose that’s why credit cards and internet shopping was invented!)

During the week, I live in Birmingham with three outrageously fabulous girlies, who I absolutely couldn't live without - Gemma, Bex and Louise. I work as the Marketing Assistant for one of the world’s largest hosiery etailers: Tightsplease.co.uk. During the weekend, I’m back home to work in Warrington’s most fashionable indie boutique, Dolly Daydream!!! Where I catch up with yet more people that I couldn't possibly live without ... couldn't write a life related blog without mentioning Kasia aka Trinny in my first post!!!! My other half ... same education, same job and up until this year - same house, same uni ... Oh how I miss my Alexa Chung style queen! :) Speaking of style queens ... I also couldn't live without my long haired lover Miss Hargreaves.

I’m starting my blog because the past six months have been incredible! I want something, other than a million Facebook updates and unnecessary, but belly achingly funny pictures, that documents, what is quickly becoming, the best year of my whole life!

Initially I thought about doing a blog dedicated entirely to catwalk fashion and where you can buy it on the high street...blah, blah, blaaaah! But there’s a million other fashion sites out there doing the same thing, and to be quite honest, I’m not deluded enough, just yet, to think that my opinion’s more important than Alexandra Shulman. So if you want catwalk fashion, read Vogue. I’m here because I’m having a huge amount of fun, and equal amounts (actually probably a lot more) work. I take far too many, completely irrelevant pictures on my iPhone, which almost got me mugged this evening (I’m sure they’ll be more to read about this later down  the line) and I update my Facebook status too often. So to ensure I don't loose any more, valuable, Facebook friends I'm going to write about my life, in detail, on here instead!

Tried to keep it short. Failed. By the way ... I talk too much. My whole life involves some sort of drama at some point during the day, and in return, I react, and make it ten million times more dramatic. I also exaggerate. A lot.

Favourite Quote ... "Lauren. It's Fine."
